World Championships in Budapest, 2nd and 3rd day


On the third day of the competition, the world titles went to Jessica Klimkait from Canada (women up to 57 kg) and Lasha Shavdatuashvili from Georgia (men up to 73 kg). After three days, Japan is ahead in the medal table with three gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal, followed by Russia (1/0/1), Canada, Georgia (1/0/0 each) and Spain (0/1/2).

Theresa Stoll from TSV Großhadern defeated Christa Deguchi from Canada in the battle for bronze and won the first German medal at these world championships.

On the second day of the competition, the world titles went to Ai Shishime from Japan (women up to 52 kg) and Joshiro Maruyama from Japan (men up to 66 kg). Sebastian Seidl from TSV Abensberg won his first fight in the 66 kg class, but then lost to world number one Manuel Lombardo from Italy.
