Euro 2020 is only a few days away. However, some of the national teams that participated were entangled in cases of COVID-19 in their squad.

Euro 2020 will be held from Saturday (12/6/2021). A total of 24 countries will compete for the trophy, the last held by Portugal.

Ahead of the European football party, several participating countries were entangled with the problem of the corona virus. Some of its pillars have tested positive for COVID-19.

The latest is the Spanish national team. Two La Furia Roja players were declared infected with COVID-19 ahead of the 2020 European Cup. After captain Sergio Busquets, now Diego Llorente was also declared infected.

Both must undergo self-isolation, separated from the squad, for at least 10 days. This means that Busquets and Llorente will miss Spain’s inaugural match at Euro 2020 against Sweden, Wednesday (15/6) early morning WIB.

Finally, coach Luis Enrique secured all his senior players against Lithuania in the last test match. As many as 19 of the 20 players were debutants, and could still help to a 4-0 win.

In addition to Spain, the national team that is also affected by the corona virus in the squad is the Swedish national team. Two of his players, Dejan Kulusevski and Mattias Svanberg, also tested positive for the coronavirus.

The situation is difficult for Sweden, because they will not be looking for a substitute for Kulusevski. The player himself has been confirmed to miss the inaugural Euro 2020 match against Spain.

“We are not going to sign anyone else to replace Dejan and we hope he will return soon,” said Swedish team doctor Anders Valentin.

Earlier this month, the Scotland national team also pulled six players out of their friendly against the Netherlands. That was after John Fleck tested positive during a pre-match check.

The Sheffield United midfielder is currently isolated in Scotland’s training camp in Spain, and will miss their Euro 2020 opener against the Czech Republic on Tuesday (14/6).
