Chalons-Reims offers Monaco, leader of Jeep Elite

Leader of Jeep Elite, Monaco conceded a surprise defeat on the floor of a poorly classified: Chalons-Reims (92-98), Tuesday in a game late for the 17th day of the Championship. The two teams did not let go during the four quarters, even starting the last ten minutes tied (69-69, 30th).

It was not until the last three minutes to see Chalons-Reims create the surprise: a three-point shot from Travis Leslie (13 points) then an interception and a basket from Gani Lawal (22 points, 8 rebounds) allowed the Champenois to take the lead at the start of the money-time. Rob Gray (24 points) brought the Monegasques back to two points by converting two free throws but the American back then missed the opportunity to equalize. A last successful shot by Mathieu Gauzin folded the case for Chalons-Reims.

In the other matches of this 17th day, Orléans won on the floor of Le Mans 93-87 while, at home, Limoges got the better of Boulazac 84-74.
