The Duisburg police investigated after an unusual break-in: The perpetrator drove a van into a cell phone shop in the city center.

The Duisburg criminal investigation agency is currently dealing with an unusual break-in into a cell phone shop in the city center.

According to the investigators’ first findings, a perpetrator drove his van to the shop on Kuhtor Street on Friday morning at around 7.45 a.m.

He stole some smartphones and fled on foot. Policemen seized the white Mercedes and notified the business owner.


Lightning break-in in Duisburg: Police are looking for witnesses

The criminal police are now looking for witnesses for the lightning break-in. According to the officials, one cyclist who is said to have spoken briefly to the perpetrator after the break-in but then continued to drive is of particular interest.

The burglar is said to have a muscular build and at the time of the crime he was wearing a baseball cap, mouth and nose protection, a gray jacket and blue trousers.
