Claressa Shields, double Olympic boxing champion and multiple world champion in professional boxing, won her very first mothball martial arts (MMA) fight on June 10, 2021 in Atlantic City (Eastern United States). The American defeated Brittney Elkin by technical knockout (TKO) in the third round, after suffering during the first two rounds at PFL4, an event hosted by the Professional Fighters League, one of the top leagues in MMA.
