Basketball player Sheldon Eberhardt from Pforzheim leaves Bayer Giants Leverkusen after the runner-up championship – sport

Leverkusen / Pforzheim. New challenge for Sheldon Eberhardt. As the Bayer Giants Leverkusen officially announced on Thursday, the Pforzheim basketball professional is leaving the German record champions after one and a half years.

“The Bayer Giants Leverkusen have to do without Sheldon Eberhardt in the ProA 2021/22. The all-rounder joins a new club in Germany. We wish Sheldon all the best and, above all, the best of health. Thank you for your commitment,” it says in one Second division club’s Instagram post.

Immediately after the lost final against MLP Academics Heidelberg, the 25-year-old declared in an interview with PZ-news that his future in Leverkusen was uncertain because his contract was about to expire. It is not yet known for which club he will be basketing in the new season.

Eberhardt moved from the BBL Club Mitteldeutscher BC in Weißenfels to the Rhine in November 2019. In the past season, the German-American led the Giants as top scorer in the play-offs for the runner-up in the ProA.
