Cologne (SID) – Rolf Scholz stops as a trainer at JobStairs Giessen 46ers from the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) and returns to the police force. The 40-year-old, who took over the post in mid-December, will work as chief inspector again in the future. The club announced on Monday.
“We had very good discussions with Rolf Scholz, but the compatibility between the two professions could not be guaranteed,” said managing director and sports director Sebastian Schmidt about the decision.
It is still open who will be the new head coach of the Giesseners, who stayed in the BBL after relegation thanks to a wildcard. According to its own statements, the club is “already in the process of finding a coach. There are good discussions and optimism that a suitable candidate to succeed Rolf Scholz will be presented to the public in the near future.”
