Cologne (SID) – After relegation from the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL), national player Philipp Herkenhoff (21) leaves Rasta Vechta and moves to ratiopharm Ulm. Herkenhoff, who played for Lower Saxony for six years, was bought out of his contract, which ran until the summer of 2022. The parties have agreed not to disclose the transfer fee.
“Philipp is one of the most talented young German basketball players. He already has an extensive set of skills,” said Ulm’s sports director Thorsten Leibenath. It is “clear that Rasta Vechta is not the end of the flagpole for a professional of his caliber,” said Rasta club boss Stefan Niemeyer.
Herkenhoff is currently competing with the national team in the Supercup in Hamburg. The forward has played three international matches so far. Herkenhoff played in 144 competitive games for Vechta.
