BADMINTON.- When the extraordinary becomes normal – Calatayud Noticias

Pablo Abián from Bilbao reached his fifteenth national winding this past weekend

It is what it has to have become the best Spanish player of all time in this discipline of badminton, to stop being news when Pablo Abián gets a Championship of Spain in absolute men’s individual. And it is not for less since last weekend Abián achieved his fifteenth absolute Spanish Championship, to which should be added those achieved in base categories many years ago. It is the history of national badminton and it refuses to not also be reality. Fifteen years being the best player in Spain is something that is available to very few and certainly deserves the recognition of all Spain despite being a minority sport such as the steering wheel and the racket.
In our case, in the case of our communication group, we have been accompanying him throughout his sports career from the beginning. Since he was a little boy who amazed in Aragon for his qualities, which added regional and national titles without stopping, until he became the best in Spain. We have continued to tell him about his titles, his Olympics, his international competitions and also, on occasion, the misunderstanding on the part of the federative entity, which may not have finished being fair enough with the best player in Spain of all time. That it has been, and that it continues to be so.
Last weekend the absolute championship of Spain took place in Cartagena. Championship that was faced, like the previous 14, with the “all against Pablo.” However, the IES La Orden de Huelva player was once again proclaimed Champion of Spain, and not only individually, he also achieved it in doubles together with his brother Javier; and last but not least, without losing a single set in either of the two championships. Those who come from behind will have to continue one more year waiting to defeat this history of Spanish badminton.

Individual
In individual he beat Carlos Miravet, Joan Monroy, Miguel Esteve, Enrique Peñalber in two sets and in the final Alvaro Vázquez. All beaten in two sets.

Double
In doubles and forming a couple with his brother Javier they surpassed: Mancera and Sepúlveda; Esteve and Martín; Baschwitz and Cardona and in the final to Monroy and Piris.

Mixed Doubles
In mixed doubles Javier Abián and Inés Piñas managed to reach fifth position.
