Despite the pandemic, a children’s day took place last year for Heritage Days: it was the only event of the Association of Friends of Andlau Castle for its 20e anniversary.

“The important work carried out by the association for twenty years must also serve as an educational and transmission support for the public, in particular children”, explains Guillaume d’Andlau, owner of the site and founder of the association.
Many fun workshops will be offered for an afternoon for families and young people: traditional archery, target shooting with scratch balls, throwing hoops on a coat of arms, small crossbow …
More didactic activities will be added such as a resourcefulness course, sensory games, drawing or crafts with the making of a medieval helmet and a turban.
All participants will be knights of Andlau, elevated to the rank of squire or squire, with a certificate. “Throughout these days, we hope that the dreams that a castle generates in the mind of a child, turn into concrete actions for the protection of heritage”, adds Bruno Lintz, current president of the association.
