Lhe Spanish badminton championships begin with the participation of two players from Mercapinturas Almería in Benalmádena and Cartagena.

On the one hand, Asier Torres participated in the Spanish U13 Championship in Benalmádena achieving a meritorious ninth position in men’s doubles with his colleague from the IES the Order of Huelva David Carvajal. In the group stage they managed to solve the key match of access to the second round against a Madrid couple, thus achieving the objective.

Already in the pass to the quarterfinals they could not go on after falling to a Sevillian couple. In individual he could not obtain an outstanding result although he fought his matches until the end, having options in each of them. It should be noted that Asier will still be under 13 and has the objective of the Spanish championship next December in Ibiza.

On the other hand, Fernando Carrillo played the Absolute Spain Championship in Cartagena and also got ninth place in men’s doubles with his CB Rinconada partner José Manuel Flores. In a highly demanding competition where only the 24 best couples in Spain can participate, Fernando and Flores managed to qualify and thus be able to enjoy an event of such magnitude. Even so, they were able to solve the first round against the Granada couple in a very close match that was resolved 22-20 in the third set. In the second round they could not face a Catalan couple (silver a posteriori) and had to settle for 9th place.
