After four rental periods, Van Ginkel is definitively PSV player

Marco van Ginkel is signing a contract with PSV for the fifth time in his career. The midfielder, who has left for Eindhoven on a rental basis four times before, is signing for two seasons.

“We wanted to sign Marco definitively and Marco already expressed his wish to stay with PSV during the past season,” says football affairs director John de Jong on the club’s website. “After Chelsea had not taken up the option to extend Marco’s contract, we quickly sat down.”

Van Ginkel is the fourth reinforcement at PSV for next season. André Ramalho, Philipp Mwene and Joël Drommel have already been recorded.

28-year-old Van Ginkel started his career at Vitesse and was recruited by Chelsea after three seasons. Partly due to injuries, he rarely played for the Londoners, who then loaned him to AC Milan, Stoke City and PSV. In 2016 and 2018 he became champion with the Eindhoven team.
