AD Cura Mora gets 6 medals in the Spanish Badminton Championships held in Moguer and Santander

Last Sunday was a historic day for Extremadura sport, with the participation of the “Cura Mora” Sports Association, once again, in the Spanish Badminton Championships held in Moguer (Huelva, born from 2006) and Santander ( born after 2002).

A historic day in which these athletes have achieved 3 bronzes and 3 silvers in a national competition:

  • Mariela Vázquez got two silver medals, both in singles and doubles (along with María González).
  • María González won the silver medal in doubles (along with Mariela), in addition to the bronze in individual, where she made it very difficult for Ana Nóvoa, champion of Spain, to go to the final.
  • Daniel Morcuende, for his part, won two bronze medals, both in men’s singles and doubles (along with Guillermo Nuviala, from Huelva).

Highlight the good participation of Manuel Calero, Simón González and Jaime Jiménez in these championships, which are undoubtedly a prize and a success.

Extremadura (with the AD Cura Mora at the head), does not have a modernization center like other autonomous communities. Even so, our boys are competing at the same level as great powers at the national level such as Huelva, Ibiza, Asturias or Galicia, so these medals are even more important.

The Department of Sports of Villanueva wants to congratulate once again all the members of the team, athletes, technicians, physios and families, for the importance of these successes for our people. A project with Manuel Caperote and David Cerrato at the helm, which continues to achieve great success.
