A great season for the PDM Centurions badminton team

Gold medalist at the provincial school championship

Still under the leadership of Benoît Millette as head coach, helped by Gabriel Pallotta, Guillaume Paquin, Valérie Paquin and Camilia Chavez-Ducharme as assistant coaches, the Centurions badminton team at the polyvalente Deux-Montagnes (PDM) still has a once had a very good season.

And this season was crowned in a good way as the Centurions of the PDM won the gold medal of the men’s doubles team in the youngest category, during the Provincial School Badminton Championship, which took place in Quebec, the April 21 and 22. It is more precisely Antoine Beaudoin and Nathan Bédard who managed to win this famous gold medal, putting an end to a dream season.

Good results

Almost 40 athletes were part of the badminton team this year. Throughout the season, the players have achieved good results, both individually and as a team.

Thus, during the team tournament, the youngest mixed team obtained 1st place and the junior mixed team finished in 2nd place.

During the season, the youngest once again earned 1st place, as did the junior team. During the regional championships held at the Académie Sainte-Thérèse on March 25, the youngest team continued its good work with a 2nd place.

At the individual level, during these regional championships, Nathan Bédard and Antoine Beaudoin won the gold medal in the junior men’s doubles, while Noémie Dugas and Xavier Vallée won the silver medal in the junior mixed doubles. Their colleagues Sophie Pellerin and Pierre-Olivier Marcouiller won the bronze medal, not to mention Océane Talon and Sophie Pellerin who won the bronze in the women’s doubles. Finally, at the cadet level, Anthony Bédard won the silver medal in men’s singles.
