5 Physics Education teachers take baseball course

Fifty physical education teachers from Ensenada participated in the Baseball 5 training course, convened by the Baja California Institute of Sports and Physical Culture (INDE) through the Secretary of Education (SE), Ensenada Delegation.

The head of the SE in the entity, Catalino Zavala Mrquez, indicated that it is very important that teachers are updated in terms of emerging sports disciplines that, in addition to strengthening physical culture, can be integrated in an ideal way to sports activities schools for the benefit of girls, boys and adolescents.

Consider that when resuming face-to-face classes, sport will be essential to strengthen their physical, mental and emotional health, hence the importance of teachers participating in this type of training.

For her part, the delegate of the SE in Ensenada, Arizbe Montao Zavala, reported that the participants went to the facilities of the High Performance Center (CAR), where they received theoretical and practical training of Baseball 5 by an instructor certified by the World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC).

He highlighted the work of inter-institutional collaboration and thanked the authorities of INDE and CAR, Jaime Zepeda Valos and Armando Peralta Ramrez for the invitation to the physical education teachers of Ensenada.

Regarding the advantages and characteristics of Baseball 5, Miguel Alfredo Jimnez Mercado, Regional Coordinator of Physical Education of the SE in Ensenada, stated that it can be practiced on any surface, indoors or outdoors and it is not necessary to build or do any exclusive installation. for your practice, as you only need a rubber ball.

Baseball 5 or B5 is a street version of baseball or softball, as it is a fast-paced team sport where individual skills stand out, it also promotes inclusion among women, men and young people, so the school sector is a important pillar to strengthen it as a sports discipline among girls, boys and young people.

Finally, Jimnez Mercado said that the main differences with classic baseball are that it consists of five innings; the number of players in action is five; there is no pitcher or pitcher; players do not wear gloves and batting consists of hitting the rubber ball hard using the hand, either with the palm or with the fist.
