2021 Play-offs final: SOA holds its first coronation

Sunday, June 27th was the victory of the final of the play-offs 2021.And for this final assault, the SOA and the ABC Fighters clashed in the men when the NCA and the ABC Fighters crossed swords after a tie of victory back and forth.

The Fighters had triumphed in the first leg (35-58) but the Sodjas made up for it in the return (43-51). And during the “Belle”, the SOA once again disposed of the defending champion (64-57) to win the very first title in its history. The military put an end to the hegemony of the ABC which had reigned supreme for decades over Ivorian basketball with its 15 coronations. To undermine the fighters, the SOA had to count on an excellent Kokoun Asshe Stephane (MVP of the beautiful), who was the executioner of the foals of Franck Sylva.

The youth of NCA triumphs over the experience of Abidjan women

In the first “Belle” contested among the ladies, the youth took precedence over the experience. In the first match, the ABC with 8 titles won against the NCA (52-62) but the daughters of Thoms N’Da recovered by dominating the daughters of Alpha Mané on the return (37-50). The gazelles ended up gaining the upper hand over the Fighters thanks to the MVP of the season Sahié Leatitia (61-42). The ABC failed to keep their title to the detriment of the NCA, which became champion for the second time after the coronation of 2017.

The season in National 1 knows its epilogue with these two play-offs finals for men and then for women and the SOA sacred as a man will defend the colors of Côte d’Ivoire during the second edition of the BAL.
