Usman Garuba will appear in the 2021 NBA Draft according to ESPN

There were a few days left to expire the deadline (May 30) and ESPN has advanced it: Usman Garuba is going to appear in the NBA Draft this year.

The Spanish power forward, whom the specialized forecasts place in the first round of the next Draft, has already sent the documentation to the NBA to be able to register and be chosen by a franchise next July 29. In the latest predictions of the US page, he appears as a possible choice number 15 and this is the first draft to which, by age, Garuba can appear. If he finally maintains his candidacy, is elected and decides to make the leap, he will have to negotiate his removal from the white team.

In recent months, accumulating great performances with Real Madrid, the 19-year-old and 2.05m white interior has consolidated within the forecasts and ESPN scouts also praised the Real Madrid player’s game.

“He has the opportunity to become one of the best defenders in the NBA. Usman Garuba’s energy, versatility, foot speed and tools make him a defensive wall and one of the most versatile defenders in his League.

SHe’s sure to have trouble with big boys like Joel Embiid, but he should be able to control some modern NBA centers. He is also the type of defender who can compete with elite forwards like LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard and even Doncic. It is one of the fastest you will see in a player of his size, his hand activity and endless power. He also knows how to defend the pick-and-roll.
