They give a free judo workshop for boys and girls

ERP. An average of 30 boys and girls have been participating in the judo workshop that is promoted, free of charge, by the Department of Education, Culture, Sports and Recreation of the Provincial Municipality of Paita.

Boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 15 attend the judo classes taught by Sensei Óscar Castillo Morán on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, at the facilities of the Serenazgo base, located in the upper part of Paita.

It was reported that the participants come from the Miraflores, Marko Jara and El Tablazo human settlements, who have found in this activity a way to distract themselves from the COVID-19 pandemic that they have had to live through.

The workshop began on May 3 and will last until December. It is subsidized by the local commune, in order to create a space that allows them to calm the anxiety and boredom that social confinement can cause.

Instructor Óscar Castillo Morán reported that the goal is to reach 50 boys and girls to learn self-defense techniques.

It is worth mentioning that these classes are monitored by the Deputy Manager of Education, Prof. Deysi Chinchay Alcas, who urged them to comply, for their safety, with the protocols against COVID-19.
