The Playoffs – Washington Football Team signs with LT Charles Leno for one year

On Wednesday (12), left tackle Charles Leno Jr. signed a $ 5 million one-year contract with the Washington Football Team. The information was released by Leno’s agent, Ron Slavin.

The player started 93 consecutive games as LT at the Chicago Bears, which dismissed him earlier this month after selecting offensive tackle Teven Jenkinks in the second round of Draft 2021.

Ron Rivera, Washington’s head coach, has said numerous times that he wants to build a strong offensive line that matches defense, which already falls into that category. Rivera is also looking for more depth and competitiveness at OL.

The 72 shirt is the third piece that the WFT has added to OL in the past few weeks. Ereck Flowers came through an exchange with the Miami Dolphins and Samuel Cosmi was drafted by the franchise in recruiting.

Leno chose to negotiate with Washington instead of the Broncos because Denver wanted him to play as a right tackle and take over from Ja’Wuan James, who suffered an Achilles tendon injury.
