The Huelva City Council, from the Department of Urban Habitat and Infrastructure, has executed 71 maintenance works in April. In addition to the great performances of previous months that continue on Avenida de Alemania or Calle Mazagón, the improvements undertaken in different sections of Avenida de Andalucía stand out.
The councilor responsible for the area, Esther Cumbrera, has explained that at the height of the plaza Corteconcepción, together with the Carmen University Campus, “we have carried out a repair, both of the sidewalk and of the parking area, to correct a subsidence problem derived from a failure in the base, which affected an area of about 120 square meters ”. For this, it has been necessary to proceed with the complete demolition of the affected area, the concreting and the subsequent paving to its original level.
Cumbrera highlights that “we continue to use paint to improve the image of infrastructures, such as pergolas on the avenida de Andalucía, in this case those located at the height of number 23, formed by a mixed structure of concrete, iron and wood with more than 25 years of antiquity ”.
More than 160 linear meters divided into two independent sections of 80 meters each and a maximum height of 7 meters, which have first been scraped to proceed with the repair of concrete damage, culminating in painting. Next, work is continued on the manual sanding of the wooden planks, to later treat them with a waterproof and varnished base.
In relation to the celebration of the Badminton World Championship, from the Department of Urban Habitat and Infrastructure, a accessibility project on Avenida Tres de Marzo. As Cumbrera recalled, “the objective of the Huelva City Council is to bet on durable infrastructures, created for the sporting event but that are useful for citizens”.
In the last section of said avenue, next to the Athletics Stadium and the access to the Archery, accessibility problems were detected so that lowered steps have been built following the most demanding regulations and have been covered with non-slip flooring and tactile signage.

Regarding the asphalted, An amount of about 10,000 euros was allocated in April to solve urgent problems related to potholes and potholes in the roads of different areas of the capital, independently of the municipal asphalting plans.
