Roland Garros> Monfils: “Last year was the worst performance of my career”

Seed number two in Belgrade, Gaël Monfils hopes to reassure himself a little before Roland Garros where he fell from the start last year. After ending a fifteen-month winless streak last week, he told our colleagues at Tennis Tourtlak that he felt he was progressing.

“I trained with Roger Federer in Switzerland. I started to feel a lot better. I am improving day by day. The last time I was here in Belgrade was at the Davis Cup final. I am happy to play in Paris, it has always been a magical place for me, different from others. Every time I arrive on the pitch, it’s a special moment for me ”.

But before Roland Garros, the Parisian has an appointment tomorrow with Roberto Carballes Baena. An interesting test to gauge yourself in the perspective of its reconstruction.
