Riley, Kluber and Turnbull rise as players of the week

Braves third baseman Austin Riley was recognized as the National League Player of the Week, while rights Spencer Turnbull (Tigers) and Corey Kluber (Yankees) were enshrined in the American League.

Riley led the majors last week with six home runs and nine runs. In addition, he was second with 11 RBIs, below the 14 of the Dominican shortstop for the Padres, Fernando Tatis Jr.

The 24-year-old Riley also hit .462 and led the majors with a 1,308 slugging and a 1,772 OPS.

Entanto, Turnbull and Kluber were recognized for their no-hitter games on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, by Detroit and New York.

For Turnbull, it was the first shutout and complete game of his career, a gem against the Mariners in Seattle.

For his part, Kluber threw a no-hitter against the Rangers on Wednesday, allowing only one running back to reach base. It was the fourth time there had been no-hitter, no-run games on consecutive days.

Turnbull and Riley won the award for the first time in their careers, while Kluber received his second weekly honor.
