PSSI Legalizes Hundreds of Club Name Changes, But Not Two League 1 Teams

BOLASPORT.COM – Deputy Chairman of PSSI, Iwan Budianto, said that there were two Liga 1 clubs who initially wanted to change their names.

The two clubs are Tira Persikabo and Bhayangkara FC.

Tira Persikabo wants to change its name to Persikabo 1973.

Meanwhile, Bhayangkara FC became Bhayangkara Solo FC.

In fact, the team nicknamed The Guardian has moved its homebase to Manahan Stadium, Solo, Central Java.

Iwan Budianto said that the two clubs could not change their names.

The reason is because PSSI has not received a letter of application from the two clubs.

That means they cannot change their new name in Liga 1 2021 later.
