Nintendo Switch Online update now available with new NES and Super Nintendo games

The Nintendo Switch Online catalog is updated today with the new NES and SNES games for the month of May. Joe & Mac or Super Baseball Simulator stand out.

The Nintendo Switch Online subscription service is a great option if you have a Nintendo Switch. Well, Nintendo has made it official that the 5 new retro games of the month of May are now available, as part of a new update on Nintendo Switch Online.

This means that, if you are subscribed to Switch Online, from today you can download these five new titles to your hybrid console. Nintendo’s support for the retro catalog of its two emblematic consoles is appreciated, since getting them in physical format seems quite complicated (and expensive). These are the 5 NES and SNES titles of the month of May 2021:

  • Ninja JaJaMaru-kun (NES)
  • Super Baseball Simulator 1.000 (Super Nintendo)
  • Joe & Mac (Super Nintendo)
  • Magical Drop 2 (Super Nintendo)
  • Spanky’s Quest (Super Nintendo)

You’ll have tons of fun hours with these timeless Nintendo classics. Joe & Mac it’s a action game released in 1991 for SNES, in which we will have to defend our cave from primitive invaders. The game is set in the Stone Age, and it will vitiate you for many hours.

For its part, Magical Drop 2 is a puzzle game based on balls of different colors, which will make you think and at the same time itch you with its different levels. Super Baseball Simulator is a SNES classic, which recreates the experience of this sport under a charming artistic style and a gameplay that is as classic as it is charming.

Another great news is that Western players will be able to enjoy Ninja jajaMaru-kun, a classic NES game that only saw the light in Japan. You will have to rescue Princess Sakura, but also defend yourself from terrible monsters. Meanwhile, in Spanky’s Quest from Super Nintendo we will control a cute monkey on a lovely 2D platformer … and difficult, of course.

Nintendo hasn’t announced a successor to the Switch yet, but it’s an open secret that they’re already working on Switch Pro, ahead of the launch of Breath of the Wild 2.
