Judo lessons resume at USC Monéteau

It’s a long-awaited moment and a relief for many sports associations, classes for minors resumed a week ago. This is particularly the case for USCM judo courses, the sports and cultural union of Monéteau. Jean-Luc Laroche is the president of the USCM.

What sanitary arrangements have been put in place for this recovery?

Judo is a sport of exchanges and contacts, so we resumed lessons with the children last Wednesday, May 19th. It is important to find a face-to-face link and we look forward to the return of the adult licensees from June 9. We want the maximum number of members to resume training even if we know that many people have reviewed their priority during the health crisis, they have set other personal goals and therefore our activity may also be impacted. But conversely we are also counting on the arrival of new judo enthusiasts.

The drop in licensees, if it is confirmed, will it have an impact on the club’s finances?

It is inevitable if we do not manage to have enough practitioners. We have a professor who is salaried and who is not subsidized, so it is an essential subject for us. We will therefore, first of all, try to recreate the link with the members at the end of the season. The opportunity also to thank those who participated in the teacher’s video during the closing of the club. We’re definitely going to have a year-end party and prepare for next season. We will be present for example at a day of highlighting associations in mid September in Monéteau.
