Istvan Peni from Hungary wins gold in 10m rifle at shoot off – OA Sport

Final with the thrill, in every sense. The Hungarian anthem resounds in Osijek, where the 2021 European Shooting Championships are underway. Istvan Peni won the compressed air rifle final from a distance of 10m.

The Hungarian in a sensational contest has put gold around his neck, the second of his career that is “broom” with that of 2020 in Wroclaw, regulating the Israeli Sergey Richter at the shoot off, in an exciting head-to-head: after in fact, twenty-four shots both hit 251.3. One-shot final playoff: 10.7 for Peni, 10.3 for Richter.

On the third step of the podium instead he settled the Russian Vladimir Maslennikov, capable of putting together 228.8 good points to take a precious bronze.

Tokyo Olympics Chapter: the first three were already sure of their pass to Five Circles, as well as Miran Maricic, who finished fourth (207.4), the Serbian Milenko Sebic, fifth at 186.4 points, and the Czech Republic representative David Hrckulak who finished seventh (142.8), behind the Norwegian Henrik Larsen (sixth at 164.4) but in front of the French Brian Baudouin (eighth at 122.2) they took the satisfaction of the pass for their contingents.
