Mariela Cerros Espinoza defines herself as a disciplined person, who loves personal growth and who always seeks to be the best in everything. And it was precisely thanks to that discipline that, on the night of Saturday May 22, she managed to be crowned Miss World Nicaragua 2021, being the successor of Sheynnis Palacios.
Proudly, he says, he represents Ocotal, Nueva Segovia. He is 21 years old and is in the last year of a Marketing degree at the Central American University (UCA).
«I feel excited and anxious to have achieved this challenge and this goal that I had proposed for nine months, during which time I have been working on different aspects such as personal, emotional, physical and psychological, and even English as my second language , because I really wanted to win and what better way than to prepare yourself in all aspects “, expresses this young lover of literature, theater, music and high intensity sports such as judo and crossfit.

On what it takes to win the Miss World Nicaragua crown, she expresses that it is commitment, conviction, discipline and responsibility. «Those are fundamental values that you must have, as well as knowing that if you are going to participate, be aware of what you are going to contribute with this platform to society and on what aspects you are going to work to be a better person and represent with great pride to Nicaragua ».
Cerros states that she has discovered many things in her that she can contribute to society, such as her leadership: “to be a voice, not only in problems, but also to be a woman with criteria that makes known what she likes, and how much can you contribute in the educational part ”.
Therefore, his dream is to create a virtual learning platform where he can offer productive education courses and digital marketing and thus be able to support small companies and emerging businesses. “And thanks to Miss World Nicaragua I know that goals can be opened for me to be able to carry out this project and help many,” he adds.

Had he not achieved the crown, he would have continued with his plans, such as culminating his career, creating his virtual platform and doing a master’s degree. She confessed that if she had not been the queen, she would have liked Katherine Mora, from Matagalpa, to win, “because we share many things together and I felt a special connection.”
Mariela grew up in a small, hard-working, humble and fighting family, full of dreams and goals, where since she was a child she was taught the value of money and work.
In 2017 he came to study in Managua, after having spent a year in León studying Law. “While in León I realized that this was not what I wanted and I came to the capital, I started working, I had two jobs, all to pay my expenses. That experience made me independent, ”says Mariela, who likes to eat ice cream, shrimp and nacatamal with bread.

He ends by saying that before he was very afraid of failure, «but in the end failure is just a lack of security, of not knowing what you want to do, of not working for what you want and the more you know what you are going to face , that fear of failure decreases. Now my fears are not taking advantage of opportunities or time.
In 2022 Cerros will have the responsibility of representing Nicaragua in Miss World. This 2021 Sheynnis Palacios will do it during the 70th edition of this contest, whose final will be on December 16 at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where more than 100 countries and territories of the world will compete.
