The men’s 3 × 3 basketball team Dominican Republic was out of the race for tickets to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games after failing to advance to the quarterfinals in the discipline qualifier, held in Austria.

Nestled in the Pool C, the Dominican representative measured himself against his peers of The Philippines, Qatar, Slovenia and France, but it was just behind the European representatives by the criterion of more points scored.

France and Slovenia advance to the quarterfinals of the 3 × 3 basketball qualifier towards Tokyo 2020.

In their first participation in the discipline, the Dominican Republic team achieved two wins, against Slovenia and the Philippines, and although they kept the dream of reaching the Olympics in Japan, their participation leaves very good feelings for the next Olympic cycle.
