Jílek returns after two years. In the summer of 2019, he left for Prague’s Sparta, where he eventually lasted only eight months. In Sigma, he will follow the work of Radoslav Látal, who finished 11th and 9th in the two seasons with the team.
As with his last tenure, Jílek’s assistant will be Jiří Saňák, who ended his engagement with the Slovácko reserve.

He built a career from young people
Forty-five-year-old Jílek is a native of Litomyšl. He started his coaching career with youth teams in Olomouc. Gradually, he worked his way up to the role of Béčka coach and assistant in the A-team. Together with Jaroslav Hřebík, he was involved in the silver success of the under-19 national team at the 2011 European Championships.
He sat on the league bench in October 2015 after being dismissed by Leoš Kalvoda. In the first year, he relegated to the second league. However, he immediately took over and in the novice season 2017/18 he led Sigma to fourth place and participation in the European League. Sigma eliminated Kajrat Almaty in the preliminary round and later dropped out with Seville, Spain, after dignified performances.
Jílek finished the 2018/19 season with the team in ninth place and subsequently bought it from the Sparta contract, where he became the head coach. However, he was recalled in February 2020 after the first spring round.
