Armilla approves its first Local Health Plan

Armilla has unanimously approved in an extraordinary plenary session its first Local Health Plan. This document sets a series of objectives on a horizon that reaches up to 2025, although it is a living document that will adapt to the circumstances and social changes of the population.

In the participatory sessions, unhealthy habits and lifestyles, problems related to mental health, environmental factors, improvement in the adequacy of health resources to the needs of the community were identified as the most important health problems for citizens. population, the increase in social, work and family support and the needs related to the aging of the population, as pointed out by the Armillero City Council.

To answer them, the plan establishes three strategic lines that will be carried out during the four years of duration. The first is related to healthy social environments, which include aspects such as crisis and unemployment, exclusion of childhood and adolescence, problems related to the elderly, psychological problems and gender violence.

The second of the strategic lines focuses on promoting an active life, focusing on poor diet and sedentary lifestyle. Finally, the third strategic line will work on the urban environment.

Personnel from the City Council, Civil Protection, the Health Center, the Granada Multiple Sclerosis Association, the Badminton Club, the CB Armilla and various residents individually have participated in the preparation of this document.

Thus, the City Council has indicated that the objective of this plan is “to develop and promote a series of actions to improve the quality of life and health of the people of the town.”

The document culminates “an arduous and intense work of elaboration of this participatory Plan” in which associative movements, political leaders, health professionals and citizens have worked together efforts and resources to detect needs and problems, making proposals for action and shaping to all the actions, projects and programs that were being carried out in the municipality.
