David Alaba clears up rumors in the ÖFB team camp that his girlfriend Shalimar Heppner could be pregnant a second time.
Shalimar Heppner grabbed his stomach, beamed with the spring sun and wrote on Instagram: “Happy happy happy”. Fans interpreted this posting as an indication of a possible second pregnancy.
Alaba made itself scarce in the season finish. It was eventful weeks – the (successful) championship fight with FC Bayern, the upcoming move to Real Madrid (officially since Friday) and the approaching EURO occupied the 28-year-old.
Since Thursday the Viennese have been with the ÖFB team in the EM preparation camp in Bad Tatzmannsdorf. On Saturday, one day after the real reveal, he answered questions from the local press. Alaba was approached about his girlfriend’s alleged pregnancy.
Alaba quickly brushed all speculation off the table. About Shalimar Heppner he said: “She is not pregnant, I can deny that.”
With a grin he added: “I only got that from Austrian media. I don’t know what you were doing there.” When asked about the hand position of his girlfriend, Alaba explained: “She was happy that we won the championship. That was exactly that day.”
Their son fills him with happiness: “Being a dad is great fun. I am grateful and love him very much.”
Will he grow up bilingual after moving to Spain? “He’s already doing that. His mom only speaks English to him, I only German. Maybe then he’ll be trilingual.”
The Madrid newcomer has to work on his own Spanish first: “I’m studying hard. The vocabulary is fine. Sentences are even less.”
