3×3 Basketball National Men’s Team to play Olympic Qualifiers

The qualifiers of 3×3 basketball, which will take place as an Olympic sport for the first time in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, started today in Graz, Austria.

In the qualifiers, which will end on May 30, a total of 40 teams, 20 for men and women, will compete. Turkey, which will take part in the tournament in the men’s category, will play its first two games this evening.

Nationals will compete in Group A with Mongolia, Poland, Brazil and Czechia in the tournament. The National Team will face Brazil at 20.05 today in its first match in the group, and will play with Mongolia at 22.35 TSI. Nationals will play their third match against Czechia on Friday, May 28 at 18.00, and will face Poland in their last match at 22.10 on the same day.

The quarterfinals, semi-finals and third place matches will be played on May 30, in the qualifiers where the top two teams in their groups will advance to the quarter-finals. The two teams that won the semi-final match and the team that won the third place match will be eligible to participate in Tokyo 2020.
