The organization of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell-Conde de Godó Trophy has given two ‘wild cards’ to the Spanish Jaume Munar and the Italian Lorenzo Musetti to play in the main draw of the Barcelona tournament, which will take place from April 19 to 25.

“Jaume Munar and Lorenzo Musetti will play the main draw of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell thanks to two invitations granted by the tournament organization. In this way, both players join Carlos Alcaraz,” explained the tournament.

Munar and Alcaraz, two young talents from the Spanish ‘armada’, as well as the young Italian Musetti, 19, will join in the main draw a fourth ‘wild card’ yet to be revealed.

The 23-year-old Majorcan tennis player, who currently occupies position number 81 in the ATP ranking, has recovered this year those sensations that led him to occupy position 52 in 2019. So far this season he has reached four finals: that of the ATP 250 Andalucía Open and three more from ATP Challenger, of which he came out with a title in Antalya.

Precisely, that title won in the Turkish city was achieved after beating Lorenzo Musetti in the final, another player that we will see in Barcelona thanks to an invitation from the organization. The 19-year-old Italian is one of the most promising tennis players on the circuit and will make his debut in Barcelona.

On the other hand, Carlos Gimeno, Holger Rune and Tommy Robredo have received an invitation for the preliminary phase and it will be up to them to access the main draw.

Carlos Gimeno, 19, was a finalist in the 2019 junior edition of Wimbledon and this year he debuted his record with the title at the ATP Challenger in Gran Canaria 2. In the case of 17-year-old Danish Holger Rune, this will also be his first participation in the tracks of RCTB-1899.
