In the night from Friday to Saturday, the fire on the Termas de Rio Honda circuit reportedly started in the VIP area of the pit complex, after which the fire spread rapidly. Firefighters from all over the region were called in to fight the flames. Other buildings in the paddock, including a museum, would have been spared for the time being.
The MotoGP Grand Prix of Argentina was originally scheduled to be held on April 8, but has already been postponed due to the corona virus. The chance that people will return later seems to have become very small. It is not yet known whether there were any injuries. At the time of writing (09:00 am Dutch time), the flames are not yet under control.
