Coveted pitcher Trevor Bauer will continue his major baseball career with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The 30-year-old gunner made the announcement himself on Friday, in a video he posted to YouTube.

Bauer has initialed a three-year contract that will net him $ 102 million. He will notably earn $ 40 million in 2021 and $ 45 million in 2022. This will make him the highest paid player in the major leagues in these two campaigns.

In addition, the right-hander has escape clauses after each of the first two seasons of his new agreement.

According to the MLB Network, the free agent recently narrowed his list of potential destinations to two teams, the reigning World Series champions and the New York Mets.

Bauer had his best career campaign in 2020. In 11 starts with the Cincinnati Reds, he’s maintained a 5-4 record and an impressive 1.73 earned-run average.

The California native was obtained by the Reds in a monster deal also involving the Cleveland Indians and the San Diego Padres in July 2019. He had previously spent nearly nine seasons in the Indians’ organization.

The UCLA University product was the Arizona Diamondbacks’ first-round pick (third overall) in the 2010 draft, but has only made four appearances for the club in the major leagues.
