Next Thursday, at 9:00 am (Colombian time), Tigres de México with the Colombians Luis Quiñones, Francisco Meza and Julián Quiñones, will play the first game of the FIFA Club World Cup, when it is measured at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium to the Asian champion. The winner of this key will face Palmeiras, representative of Conmebol, who this Tuesday traveled to Qatar.

The Mexican team completed its third training session in Qatar on Tuesday, preparing for its official premiere against South Korea’s Ulsan Hyundai FC. The team that traveled with the three Colombians from its squad: Luis Quiñones, Julián Quiñones and Francisco Meza, has practiced on penalties on two occasions, in case it is necessary in the first match of the Club World Cup.

Luis Quiñones referred to the preparation for this world event, which also includes Bayern Munich from Germany, as one of the main attractions. “We have been preparing ourselves in the best way, we are aware of what we are going to face. The Club World Cup is a one-game tournament, anything can happen, we have the mentality of doing things well because we have the ability as a team to achieve a great tournament and we go with that mentality of doing things well and fight for the title ”.

The Colombian striker said that his team has confidence and experience, and that it is something they will seek to reaffirm at the Club World Cup. “There are players who have been at the club for many years and have achieved important things, they have played very important tournaments such as World Cups and qualifiers. It is a plus that gives us something extra, having that hierarchy in those players who give us confidence.”

Tigres will be in charge of opening the curtain of the competition in Qatar against the South Korean team. On the same Thursday, around 12:30 pm (Colombian time), the local representative Lekhwiya will face Al-Ahly from the city of Cairo, Egypt.

The winner of the bracket between the Mexicans and Ulsan Hyundai FC will face Palmeiras on Sunday (1:00 pm), while the winner of the second bracket will meet Germany’s Bayern Munich. The final is scheduled for Thursday, February 11.
