The Red Devils will play World Cup qualifying matches behind closed doors in Leuven in March | Red Devils

On March 24 our national football men will play against Wales, a week later on March 30 the match against Belarus will follow.

The matches will still take place without an audience due to corona.

At the end of last year, the Devils had to flee to Leuven for the friendly match against Switzerland and the Nations League duels against England and Denmark.

“Since there are still no spectators admitted because of COVID-19, such a move is again the most appropriate solution,” said the union’s announcement.

“The RBFA reached an agreement on this with OH Leuven, the City of Leuven and the City of Brussels with which the RBFA has a contract to play the home games of the Red Devils in the King Baudouin Stadium.”

“In view of the current sanitary crisis, organizing such matches in a smaller stadium is cheaper. The RBFA is now very familiar with the stadium in Leuven, where the home matches of the Red Flames and the U21 are also played.”

“The Football Association is therefore strongly committed to thank both the OHL club and the city of Leuven for their hospitality and the smooth cooperation.”
