The Ciudad de Junín basketball tournament was officially launched • Diario Democracia

In the Hall of the Olympic Flame of the General San Martín Complex, a press conference was held yesterday in which the official start of the “Relánpago” championship was announced, in what constitutes a pioneering initiative at the regional level and provincial. This will begin from Monday, February 8 and will run until March, with compliance with the proper health protocols.
The announcement was attended by authorities from the Government of Junín, the Juninense Basketball Association, the Buenos Aires Basketball Federation, the Fortunato Basketball Referees Association and presidents of the 9 de Julio (Javier Balvidares), San Martín (Gabriela Schiavoni) and Los Indios (Juan Pablo Pontelli), among other leaders of local entities.
Marcelo Rodríguez, president of the Juninense Basketball Association, said: “It is essential for us that we can go back to kick the ball officially, we were really very anxious and we are very happy that it can be carried out. I want to thank the Municipality of Junín, since we have had full support so that this can be done ”.
In addition, Rodríguez said that “thinking about this a couple of months ago was really impossible, so we are very pleased to be able to say that starting next Monday we are going to hold the Ciudad de Junín Tournament.”
Meanwhile, Claudio Yópolo, Sports Director, said: “For us it is very important that this tournament be held, not only for the Sports Directorate that I am in charge of, but also for all the areas that make up the Government of Junín . We have been working hard for this and today it is a huge satisfaction for me to announce this tournament, because behind it there are a lot of boys who needed to play officially, beyond training.
The official also indicated that “it is very good that they have this objective of playing a championship, because it is something that every athlete likes. So I have great satisfaction to be able to accompany Marcelo and Miguel (Chami) in this, as well as each of the clubs for the great work they have done in all this time ”.
