The Cavaliers would not be interested in a buyout from Andre Drummond

The trade deadline is set this season for March 25, and hardly this last one, we enter what is called the buyout period. Players who have not been transferred, who are at the end of their contract and want to leave, especially to join a suitor, negotiate a contract buyout in order to be able to sign up with the team of their choice to end the season.

Recently it has been whispered that Andre Drummond could be a serious candidate for the buyout, he who would like to join the Nets. The Pivot is in the final year of his contract and if he’s having a good season, just like the Cavaliers, he could be a player who could negotiate a buyout to bolster a contender as he goes free agent this summer and the the likelihood of him remaining at the Cavs has pretty much diminished with the arrival of Jarrett Allen.

However right now he’s a big part of the Cavaliers’ rotation, and if Hoopshype is to be believed, the franchise would not be interested in negotiating a buyout. In this case, Cleveland could therefore rather try to exchange it, even if this is speculation.

Since the start of the season Drummond is running at 18.2 points at 45.5%, 14.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.6 interceptions and 1.4 against.
