The association between the Philadelphia Eagles and quarterback Carson Wentz is coming to an end.

According to what Adam Schefter reported from ESPN, expect the Pennsylvania team to make a major trade involving the 28-year-old quarterback within the next week. Schefter had not yet been able to identify precisely which team could receive the second overall pick in the 2016 draft.

According to Schefter, the Eagles would be looking for a similar comeback as the Detroit Lions did when the latter traded Matthew Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams. They had inherited a third-round pick this year, two first-round picks and quarterback Jared Goff.

Among the teams possibly interested in the Eagles quarterback are the Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Bears.

Last season, Wentz had a very tough campaign with 15 interceptions against 16 touchdown passes and a 57% complete pass rate.

He was a far cry from the statistics of 33 touchdowns in 2017 or 21 in 11 games the following season. Wentz is in the midst of a four-season contract that is expected to net him $ 128 million.

The Eagles handed the ball over to rookie Jalen Hurts to replace Wentz in the last campaign. The second-round pick threw six touchdown passes against four interceptions in four starts.
