MU has no champion mentality, it is difficult to compete with Liverpool-City

London

Gary Neville saw that Manchester United did not deserve to compete in the championship path. Although their performance has improved, the Red Devils are considered not to have a winning mentality.

The former Red Devils right-back analyzed MU’s performance in his last four Premier League matches. After a series of positive results for two months, MU has relatively decreased in performance.

After being counterbalanced by Liverpool’s goalless, MU did win 2-1 over Fulham in the Premier League which was interspersed with a 3-2 victory over Liverpool in the fourth round of the FA Cup. However, surprisingly, MU lost 1-2 to Sheffield United at Old Trafford.

The defeat made MU lag behind Manchester City who topped the standings. Last weekend, MU could no longer win three points because Arsenal were counterbalanced by Arsenal.

As a result, Manchester United are now three points behind City at the top of the standings. The draw against Arsenal made MU criticized for failing to beat fellow England big teams this season.

Of the six meetings, MU only won four draws and two defeats with a score of one goal. Therefore, Neville feels that MU is not mentally strong enough to compete at the top.

City and Liverpool have proven that they can bounce back to the top flight, after a series of bad results. Liverpool have won their last two games, after a five-match winless streak.

“I think there was a big disappointment in the three games – Liverpool, Sheffield United and Arsenal – for only picking up two points,” Neville said at the event. The Gary Neville Podcast.

“For example, when facing Arsenal and Liverpool, then I argued, I saw Kean and Redknapp last night, why Manchester United don’t have the confidence to win ?,” he continued.

“They don’t have it yet. They don’t have a winning mentality. It’s difficult when suddenly it changes in eight weeks, from a manager who will be sacked because of bad results and be eliminated from the Champions League after being defeated by RB Leipzig, then turning the team into a champion mentality.”

“They are not Liverpool. They have never won any titles with the current players. They are not Manchester City, who are players with a myriad of titles. They have no experience for this competition,” concluded Gary Neville.
