Veteran Granada striker Roberto Soldado is very upset with Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman. Soldado got angry because of Koeman’s action at the end of the fight.
Barcelona appeared to get rid of Granada dramatically with a score of 5-3 in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals on Thursday (4/2/2021). Granada came close to creating a surprise after scoring two goals from Kenedy in the 33rd minute and Soldado in the 47th minute.
The advantage lasted until the dying minutes of normal time, before Antoine Griezmann scored the goal that started the comeback Blaugrana in the 88th minute. Jordi Alba made sure the match went into extra time after scoring the visitors’ second goal in injury time.
In the 2 × 15 minutes, Griezmann netted his second before Granada had equalized from a Fede Vico penalty. Barca finally secured the win after scoring two more goals from Frenkie de Jong and Alba in the last 12 minutes.
Koeman seemed unable to contain the exuberant excitement after Barca scored his last two goals. Soldado responded coldly to Koeman’s action, who had been withdrawn since the second half. His shout to Koeman was clearly captured by the microphone on the sidelines.
“He is a fool, he is a fool,” Soldado blurted out Brand. “You are a clown, you are not humble.”
The heat of the Granada vs Barcelona match does not only happen on the field but on the bench. Referee Sanchez Martinez had to expel the coaching staff from each team.
“In the 83rd minute, coach [Jesus] Perez Lopez, was expelled for reasons: loud protest, stood up, shouted and raised his hands from his position in the stands, after being warned, “said the referee’s report after the match.
“In the 113th minute, coach [Albertus] Schreuder was red-carded for a reason: leaving his technical area celebrating a goal, making gestures to provoke those on the home side’s bench. “
However, Ronald Koeman’s men have the right to qualify for the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey. Sevilla or Levante, or Athletic Bilbao will be Barcelona’s next opponent which will be determined in the drawing today (5/2) local time.
