This Thursday is D-Day for Instituto in the Basketball Champions League Americas (BCLA). La Gloria makes its debut in the most prestigious competition in America and from 8:40 p.m. it is measured against Minas Tenis at the Maracanazinho stadium in Rio de Janeiro (DirecTV and Live Basketball TV).
The BCLA began on January 31 but for the red-haired man the path begins this Thursday when he faces for the first time the team from Belo Horizonte, which did not participate in the last edition but which leads the league standings with 35 points (with 17 wins out of 18 games played).
The squad is managed by Léo Costa and has experienced players such as JP Batista, David Nesbitt, David Jackson, point guard Davi, and Luciano Parodi.
For those from Alta Córdoba, this will be the second participation after they were among the top four last season; in 2021 they will seek to exceed their own record.
For the match against Minas, Sebastián Ginobili has his squad (almost) complete and recovered; the only player who will be absent is Federico Pedano, who had a positive result in the pre-trip test.
The start of the Group D phase, Flamengo (Instituto’s rival on Friday) beat Minas 79-69.
