The win over Tottenham Hotspur is of great value to Chelsea. Because, the Blues can finally beat fellow Big Six teams this season.
Chelsea visited Tottengam Hotspur Stadium, Friday (5/2/2021) in the morning WIB, to face Tottenham. This is the real test for Thomas Tuchel, who has previously played two matches with Chelsea.
Chelsea actually played more aggressively than Tottenham for 90 minutes. They controlled 58 percent of ball possession and made 18 attempts to seven belonging to Tottenham.
However, there were only two attempts on target from the two capital teams. In the end Chelsea won 1-0 through Jorginho’s penalty in the 24th minute following Eric Dier’s foul on Timo Werner.
An additional three points makes Chelsea move up to sixth in the standings with 36 points, four points from Liverpool in fourth place in the Premier League standings.
For Thomas Tuchel this victory was such a relief because he was able to continue his good start with two wins and one draw. Chelsea haven’t conceded conceded either.
What’s even more exciting is that Chelsea can be grinning big after grabbing their first win over their fellow Big Six this season. Previously on the first five occasions with Frank Lampard, Chelsea had never won with two draws and three defeats.
In fact, they only scored two goals! This victory is at least a good start for Tuchel to revive Chelsea for the rest of the season. The next game against Big Six is February 28 against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
