“Tokyo Excellence” to play based in Yokohama from this fall

The professional basketball club “Tokyo Excellence” belonging to the B3 league has announced that it will move its hometown from Itabashi-ku, Tokyo to Yokohama City from July. The home arena is Yokohama Budokan in Naka Ward. In the future, we plan to change the club name to include “Yokohama”.

To play a role in sports promotion

Noboru Mukai, President and CEO of TES Co., Ltd., the operating company of the club, decided at a press conference on January 30th that the current home arena capacity is large despite his ability. He explained that he was unable to be promoted twice because he did not meet the regulations. The professional basketball club enrolled in the city was born in 2010, and is the second team following “Yokohama B-Corsairs” whose main arena is the Yokohama International Pool in Tsuzuki Ward.

President Mukai expressed great gratitude for the understanding of the city and B-Corsair, and said, “Yokohama is a city where you can realize the club philosophy of” making many people smile through sports. “The club is also a city that can play a role in revitalizing the Kannai and outside areas. I want to grow with them. First of all, I hope I can expand my activities from local areas such as Naka Ward and Nishi Ward. “
