“Monopoli 2021 – Archery Cup” scheduled for Sunday 7 February 2021 at the sports tensile structure in via Croce without the presence of the public

The Sports Association “Archers of the Dunes“Of Fasano with the patronage of the Municipality of Monopoli (Mayor Angelo Annese and Councilor for Sport Cristian Iaia) organizes the “Monopoli 2021 – Archery Cup” event for Sunday 7 February 2021 at the tensile structure in Via Benedetto Croce (near the “Vito Simone Veneziani” stadium). This is an interregional competition, exclusively in the City of Monopoli, valid for qualifications for the next Italian Championships in Rimini 2021, organized with the Italian Archery Federation (FITARCO, Puglia).

The event, which will take place from 9 to 18.30 approximately, without the presence of the public, will allow the presentation, through the media, of a new sporting discipline that combines the interests of children, the very young and adults.

Under the watchful eye of the FITARCO referee Niki Prudentinowill be 48 athletes from all over Puglia and Basilicata who will compete for the opportunity to qualify for national rounds; 12, on the other hand, the straws with double target for each and double shooting shift (from 9.30 to 13.30)

Archery, in this case at 18 meters indoors, is one of the most ancestral activities of man, which has become an Olympic discipline within everyone’s reach and very rigorous in compliance with the rules. Its classification among individual sports activities makes it practicable even in the current circumstances of restrictions due to the decrees of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, as well as outdoors and, possibly, even independently in the countryside, if in safety.

“The goal is, therefore, to bring a new sporting reality to Monopoli, already active in Fasano, that is in a territory similar to us and common, because the common origin from the ancient reality of Egnazia makes us empathically and substantially children of the same dunes “ say the organizers.
