Thanks to the curiosity of her mother, who one day passed through the Parque Cafetero de Armenia and decided to motivate her 4 children to start the sporting process of weightlifting, today Julieth Jiménez Palechor is a recognized medalist in this discipline.

Since he was 12 years old, he has been part of the Quindío Weightlifting League and remembered with great affection each of the triumphs and medals that he has accumulated until today in his career as an athlete.

“Weightlifting provides huge opportunities. In this discipline you start from an early age and each year you improve. When you come of age, it allows you to study a career, travel, help your family and even buy a house. These options for low-income people like me, and many others, are only provided by sport, ”said Jiménez Palechor.

He has won multiple medals locally, regionally, nationally and globally, a source of pride not only for his family but also for the entire department.

She considered that the 3 most significant achievements in her career were her world medal, as well as the second and third place at the national level as one of the youngest athletes in this discipline.

Mexico, Peru, El Salvador, Guatemala and Malaysia are part of its collection of well-known countries, without neglecting that there are few corners of Colombia that you still need to visit.

“The last major triumph I obtained was just a few months ago, not even the pandemic prevented me from competing and I was the national champion of the sub-23 category.”

In 2019, when she had her daughter, she experienced one of the most rewarding challenges of her career. After the delivery process at 4 months she returned to training and later returned to competition.

He measured himself against his rivals, reached his mark in record time. The motherhood process was never an impediment to training, and after this her daughter became the first engine to accumulate more victories.
