- Northern Lights : the astronomer Pierre Gassendi, figure of the region of Digne, observed at the castle of Peynier, during his visit to the lord, an aurora borealis while looking towards Sainte-Victoire. It was he who first used the term “aurora borealis” and that was 400 years ago in 1621.
- Die : the Vallon de l’Homme Mort, on the border with La Bouilladisse.
- In the blue sky and the wheat fields : reference to the Ukrainian flag, blue and yellow for the sky and the wheat fields. A stele recalls that thousands of Ukrainian emigrants joined the ranks of the Foreign Legion to defend France during the Second World War. Their regiments withdrew to Peynier where they engraved in the Rocher de la Garenne the Tryzub, an ancient symbol of Ukraine.
