Tine De Caigny elected Women’s Golden Shoe, group shot for Sporting Anderlecht

RSC Anderlecht striker succeeds her RSCA teammate Tessa Wullaert, whom she is narrowly ahead of. The Anderlecht triumph is total with the 3rd place of Kassandra Missipo.

If Anderlecht prances at the top of the championship with an immaculate record of 30 points out of 30, he owes it in large part to his two strikers De Caigny and Wullaert. Logically, they were the two favorites to win this 5th women’s Golden Shoe. The choice fell on Tine De Caigny, who scored 15 goals in 10 days in the Women’s Super League.

Tine De Caigny also shone with the national team. They played a major part in the Red Flames ‘direct qualification for Euro 2022. Ives Serneels’ side won their group with a 4-0 victory and two goals by De Caigny against Switzerland in early December. The Anderlecht native also finished top scorer in qualifying with a whopping twelve goals.

Tine De Caigny collected 289 points, 39 more than Tessa Wullaert, who returned to Anderlecht last summer after two experiences abroad. Wullaert has already won this trophy three times, in 2016 during the first edition, 2018 and 2019.

The podium is completed by Kassandra Missipo, the tireless midfielder of RSC Anderlecht, who gleaned 181 points. Janice Cayman, winner of the trophy in 2017 and resident of Olympique Lyonnais, finished 4th (149 pts).
