Résumé :

His first Vendée Globe did not end as he hoped. On November 8, 2020, the French sailor Kevin Escoffier takes the start of the 9th edition at the helm of “PRB”. This was only his second solo competition, after several successes with a crew. A few days later, on November 30, his Imoca crashed into a wave and broke in two.

The native of Saint-Malo has only a few minutes to abandon the sailboat submerged by the water. Jean Le Cam, a competing skipper, notices this and comes to his rescue the next day. Kevin Escoffier is safe and sound after 11 hours spent on his liferaft. But the race is over for the navigator.

More than a month after the damage which could have cost him his life, Kevin Escoffier recounts his journey and these few hours of ordeal at the microphone of Clawdia Prolongeau.
